Ustadha Maryam Amir

Maryam Amir received her master’s in Education from UCLA. She holds a second bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies through Al-Azhar University. Maryam has studied in Egypt, memorized the Qur’an and has researched a variety of religious sciences, ranging from Quranic exegesis, Islamic jurisprudence, Prophetic narrations and commentary, women’s rights within Islamic law and more for the past 15 years.

She’s host of the Quran Champions series on Islam Channel. She has been interviewed for her work by major news outlets including BBC, NPR and CBS and has been honored with lecturing internationally. She holds a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and speaks multiple languages. She is the creator of “Qariah: The Women Quran Reciters App” which is available for free on Google Play and Apple stores and the author of the (God willing) forthcoming book COMPASS: A Guide to Navigating Questions, Doubts and Conversations on Women in Islam. Ustadha Taimiyyah Zubair

Ustadha Taimiyyah Zubair is an established teacher with a focus on Quran. She is known for her translation and tafseer of the Quran. She has completed and taught a number of word-for-word translations, and brief and detailed tafaseer. She has pursued intensive Islamic studies under the guidance of her parents and scholars, Dr. Idrees Zubair and Dr. Farhat Hashmi (founders of Al Huda International). Ustadha Taimiyyah is an instructor at Al Huda Institute and Al Maghrib Institute, and can often be found teaching classes in the GTA and internationally.

Ustadha Samia Mubarak

Samia is the founder of Quranic Ocean, where she teaches guided Tadabbur classes on how to build personal and emotional connections with Allah’s words. She completed her Quran memorization shortly after attaining her Bachelor’s degree in Communications with a minor in Psychology from Florida State University. She is a student of the Muddakir Quran Tafseer and memorization program and a student of the Suhba Seminary by Al-Madina. She is a Quran teacher for Ribaat by Rabata and is currently working on an Ijaza (Quranic memorization certification) in Hafs recitation inshallah. 

She’s a single mom to two girls, one of which was born with a very rare syndrome called CHILD and has special medical needs, alhamdulillah. She is a home barista, and she loves making latte art! She hopes to help people dive deep into the Quranic ocean so they can find comfort and reassurance through Allah’s words amidst the varying circumstances of life.

Ustadha Safia Ravat

Safiya Ravat is the co-founder of SUHBAH Institute in Houston Texas and holds a Bachelor's in Islamic Fiqh and Usul al Fiqh (Islamic Law and Jurisprudence) from the International Islamic University of Malaysia as well as a Master's in Pastoral Counseling in Marriage and Family. 

Safiya currently serves as the main instructor of Quranic Arabic at the Suhbah Seminary and a chaplain for the University of Houston MSA alongside her husband, Mahad Qamar. 

Ustadha Fatima Lette

Ustadha Fatima Lette is an instructor at Qalam. She is a faculty member at the Qalam Seminary where she teaches Ulum Al Quran, Usul Al Tafsir, and Tafsir. She conducts classes and workshops online. She is a regular teacher at Qalam Intensives.

Ustadha Fatima Lette graduated from Kennesaw State University with a B.A. in Psychology. She went on to graduate from the ‘alimiyyah program at the Qalam Seminary. Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, she continues to serve her community as a teacher at the Roswell Community Masjid. She is a teacher at the Roots Community Space.

Ustadha Marjaan Ali

Ustadha Marjaan is a graduate from Taibah university in Madinah and has been involved in dawah work and teaching Quran and Islamic studies for over 10 years. She has completed memorizing the Quran by the blessing of Allah and has several Ijazahs in the various Qira’aat. 

Her passions include empowering Muslim women, debunking myths about Islam, and her beloved cats.

Ustadha Fusiena Mohammad

Ustadha Fuseina Mohamad is a Ghanaian-American who has been a student and teacher of Quran and Classical Arabic since 2011. Ustadha Fuseina's passion lies in helping Muslims, especially adults, build a meaningful relationship with the Quran through learning the Arabic language, engaging with the Quran and studying the life of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Ustadha Fuseina is a graduate of the Qalam Institute 1-year Seminary Program, and is currently a student in the Qalam ʿĀlimiyyah program. She completed memorization of the Quran in January 2018, and holds ijaazah in the Ashara Sughra and Ashara Kubra readings of the Quran from the Critical Loyalty Institute.


Ustadha Fuseina holds a Masters in Islamic Studies from SOAS, University of London. In addition, she holds a B.A. in Computer Science and a Masters in Information Systems. Ustadha Fuseina lives in DFW, Texas where she works as a Senior Software Developer.

Ustadha Sophia Khan

Ustadha Sophia Khan is a motivational speaker, educator, and Muslim community leader who is known for her engaging, understanding, and relatable teaching style, especially among Muslim youth, college students, and young professionals.

She is a mentor and advisor to many young sisters across Texas and currently serves as the Youth Sisters' Advisor and Instructor for Safwah Seminary at the Islamic Center of Frisco.

She studied Islamic Shari'ah Law in Arabic as her major at the University of Sharjah, U.A.E. and in addition to it, also has a degree in Psychology with a concentration in Mental Health.

Her focus and passion is to teach and guide the younger generation on connecting themselves with Allah (subhanu wa ta'ala) and navigating life and relationships through the Qur'an and Asmaa Ul Husnaa as well as through the lens of Islamic Psychology.

Ustadha Rabbia Razzaque

Ustadha Rabbia Razzaque serves as the Academic Coordinator for the Year 2 Foundational Islamic Sciences program at the Qalam Seminary. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio and graduated from Qalam’s Alimiyyah program in 2020. She is passionate about encouraging students along on their journey of seeking sacred knowledge and also teaches Ulum ul Qur’an in Year 1 and Year 2 of the Seminary. 

In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, exploring coffee shops, and spending time with her family.

Sister Haleh Banani

Haleh Banani earned her Master's degree in Clinical Psychology in 1998 and has dedicated her 24-year career to serving the Muslim community as a faith-based counselor, saving marriages, and helping people overcome obstacles. She and her husband Abdelmajeed are the founders of The 5 Pillars of Marriage Program. Her husband has been her best friend for the past 25 years mashaAllah tabarakAllah.


They also founded a pre-marital program called Laugh and Learn with comedian Baba Ali and a mentorship program for women called the Mindful Hearts Academy where over 3,000 women have learned to be the best version of themselves. Haleh hosted her own TV show called "with Haleh" in Egypt.

Shaykha Zenab Hamdan

Founder of Taysir Education & Co-Founder of Sahibi Program, Shaykha Zenab memorized the Quran in two years, concluding at the tender age of 12. She started teaching Tajweed and Quran at the age of 18 and never looked back! She went on later to get certified in teacher training courses in Al-Madinah. She also taught at an International Islamic studies school for women that overlooked the Uhud Mountain. She taught Quran and Islamic studies to many nationalities ranging from Japanese, Russian, American, Nigerian, and Indonesian;  giving her the privilege to learn and understand the unique challenges that each dialect may have in reciting the Quran. 


Before her departure to America in 2011, she had the opportunity to manage a Quran memorization school with further strengthened her leadership and administration skills. 

She later co-founded her own Sunday Islamic school in Houston. TX for kids whose primary focus was recitation, memorization, and understanding of the Quran
